A fire broke out in the reeds near Lake Neusiedl on Friday afternoon. Five fire brigades and a helicopter are in action.
The fire should have broken out in the reeds between Oggau and Donnerskirchen shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday, and a column of smoke could be seen from afar. It was not possible to get to the seat of the fire with vehicles or boats, so a police helicopter was requested to extinguish it. The fire brigades in Rust, Oggau, St. Margarethen and Oslip are on duty. No information can currently be given about the area of the reed fire. The column of smoke is visible as far as Eisenstadt.
