An iPhone 13 Pro Max with a jack, a USB-C port, two fans, double the battery… modder Yang Changshun has completely modified Apple’s phone. He posted a series of videos on his TikTok account (Douyin in China) to show the whole procedure. Spoiler: it’s very complicated.
In the modding community, there are those who add a little feature here and there (like a USB-C port to an iPhone), and there are those who add a bunch of them all at once. only one. A tinkerer by the name of Yang Changshun posted a series of videos on TikTok (Douyin in China) showing off what he calls an “Ultra” iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The device, nay, the monster is twice as thick as a normal model and weighs 324.5 grams, compared to 238 grams at the start. It has a second battery, two fans, a second USB type C port (in addition to Lightning), but also a 3.5 mm jack port, missing from Apple phones since the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max in 2018.

While Apple has the annoying habit of blocking the replacement of unofficial parts at the software level, seeing a Do it Yourself specialist add so many elements to a phone of this same brand is an exciting sight to say the least.
Better performance and doubled battery life
Especially since it gives a glimpse of what an iPhone of this caliber could deliver. According to the modder’s videos, the “ultra version” of the iPhone 13 Pro Max would see its autonomy doubled and its results on Antutu greatly improved. This performance boost is no doubt due to the better cooling offered by the two fans and the larger size of the phone.
It goes without saying that it is not at all advisable to attempt the operation at home, as it seems excessively complex. The videographer, however, exposes the whole procedure on his account if curiosity takes you.
