PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Gambling operator La Française des Jeux (FDJ) confirmed its 2022 targets on Thursday after posting strong revenue growth in the first quarter.

Over the period from January to March, the group published a turnover of 613 million euros, up 14% compared to the first quarter of 2021.

The gambling operator also recorded a 10.2% increase over one year in its stakes, to 5.06 billion euros.

FDJ notably benefited from a favorable basis of comparison on its physical sales. In the first quarter of 2021, the restrictions taken in France to fight the Covid-19 pandemic forced the group to close nearly 10% of its network.

This “good start to the year confirms the group in achieving its 2022 objectives both in terms of business growth and margin rate”, judged the company in a press release.

For this year, FDJ expects to generate sales growth of nearly 5% and an EBITDA margin (gross operating surplus) of more than 23.5%.
