When a free update accompanying the release of The Sims 4 Years High School expansion turns into a fiasco… Due to a bug, characters try to have relationships with their family members.
Nothing has been going well since the last free update of The Sims 4. What was supposed to be a step closer to inclusiveness has turned into a little bad buzz. Life simulation enthusiasts have encountered several bugs, the most annoying being that the game allows and encourages incestuous relationships.
The Sims 4’s latest update is a fiasco
It was an update expected by the community, but nothing went as planned. This Friday, July 26, Maxi Studios rolled out a free patch adding a whole bunch of new content. On the program, new options for creating Sims, new feelings of fear and desires, curved walls and above all the addition of the sexual orientation of the characters. All that mixed together created a huge anomaly that the developers missed.
EA has indeed taken the foot in the carpet by modifying the system of desires, to the point that The Sims 4 now encourages incest. Several players have indeed noticed that their characters are now trying to start romantic relationships with members of their family. One capture, for example, shows an old lady wanting to ask her own son to be her boyfriend. This is not an isolated incident, there have been several similar instances where a Sim asked his sister to be his girlfriend, while another tried to date his father.
What disconcerts the players affected by this ugly bug which has since been reported to the developers. The studio has also announced that it is working on a patch to resolve this problem as soon as possible. This is unfortunately not the only inconvenience caused by this update of The Sims 4. Some players have noticed premature aging of the avatars. Their characters get older quickly while they don’t celebrate their birthday, as is the tradition in the game. All this should be corrected very quickly, however.
