Dr. Harold Bornstein, the former personal physician of the outgoing US President Donald Trump, died at the age of 73.

Dr. Harold Bornstein died last Friday (January 8th) at the age of 73. This emerges from a message published in the "New York Times". "As a devoted husband and loving father, Dr. Bornstein leaves his wife Melissa (Brown), daughter Alix and sons Robyn, Joseph, Jeremee and Jackson," says the obituary. A cause of death is not yet known.

The gastroenterologist was Trump's personal physician from 1980 to 2017. His father Jacob Bornstein previously held this position. In December 2015, around a year before Trump's election as US president, Harold Bornstein received media attention. He certified Trump that he was "the healthiest person who would ever be elected to the presidency." "His physical strength and endurance are exceptional," the doctor wrote in the published letter.

Bornstein: The letter was "dictated" to him

Bornstein was fired as Trump's doctor after upset the president when he admitted to the New York Times in 2017 that he had prescribed Trump a hair loss drug. In 2018 Bornstein also told CNN that he was "dictated" to write about Trump's extraordinary health. In addition, Trump's employees searched his New York practice in February 2017 and took Trump's medical file with them. The claim was denied by the White House. Bornstein's successor was Ronny Jackson (53). Since 2018 Dr. Sean Conley, 41, is the President's personal physician.
