Sandman on Netflix: the good news long awaited by fans!


It’s finally official: Netflix is ​​renewing the Sandman series for a second season. News that should relieve fans who feared its cancellation due to the high cost of the first season and Netflix’s radio silence.

Sandman fans can finally breathe! Netflix has just given the green light for the renewal of Neil Gaiman’s series. Deadline is reporting the news after several conflicting reports began to surface online.

Sandman, which launched in early August, was watched for 69.5 million hours in its first week and then doubled that figure in the second week to 127.5 million. then 77.2 million in the third week and finally 53.8 million in the fourth.

The renewal confirmation follows an accidental leak on the official DC Comics Twitter page. The tweet, since deleted, read: “The dream continues. Sandman will return with new episodes based on multiple volumes of Neil Gaiman’s graphic novel to explore even more stories from Infinity.

The announcement came after rumors of the cancellation started circulating on social media, with Gaiman reporting a fake Twitter account.

The 10-episode series, based on the DC Comics series of the same name by Neil Gaiman, follows Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), the personification of dreams and one of the Infinite Seven, captured in an occult ritual in 1916. After having been held captive for 106 years, Morpheus also called Dream escapes and sets out to restore order to the Kingdom of Dreams.

Other cast members include Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Patton Oswalt as Matthew the Raven, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer Morningstar and Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine.

A surprise bonus episode was released in August, featuring two stories from Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels, “A Dream of a Thousand Cats” and “Calliope”, featuring the voices of Sandra Oh, James McAvoy, David Tennant and Michael Sheen in the first part.
