Duchess Meghan
Court speaks out in favor of them again
In the legal dispute with the "Daily Mail" and "Mail on Sunday", Duchess Meghan has won another victory.
Next partial victory for Duchess Meghan (39): A British court has awarded her the legal costs in the dispute with the "Daily Mail" and "Mail on Sunday" amounting to the equivalent of around 520,000 euros. This is a provisional payment only – the editors will have to pay a total of 90 percent of Meghan's court costs for their privacy and copyright infringement suit against Associated Newspapers, which is estimated at $ 1.55 million.
Meghan's lawyers had, however, expected a higher provisional payment: According to legal documents, this was 860,000 euros. Associated Newspaper had printed and distributed parts of a handwritten letter from Meghan to her father Thomas Markle. That was inadmissible and illegal, the court ruled last month.
