A 94-year-old grandiose dials the emergency number in Lecco, Italy, out of sheer solitude. She reports to the police that she had been broken into.
The officials are soon at the door. When they enter, the men soon realize the real problem: Nothing is missing in the house itself, but the Italian woman lacks social contacts.
She just wanted to chat again
According to the “Kronen newspaper“The elderly woman felt terribly lonely and felt the need to just chat with someone again.
She told the police that she no longer had any close relatives and would soon be moving to an old people’s home near Bellagio. The officers then sit on the sofa for a few minutes and keep the 94-year-old company for a while.
The next morning, the surprise: With a biscuit as a present, the men turn up at the woman’s place one more time – this time without an emergency call. The lonely grandma is overjoyed and beaming at her visitors. “That, too, is ‘always there’”, say the police officers. (une)
