It was in Isère that a 12-year-old girl was the victim of a whirlwind after bathing in the waters of Guiers. She unfortunately did not manage to get out of it and died this Sunday, May 28.
While at the beginning of April a young couple drowned after trying to save their dog which had fallen into the water, it is a news item which shook this small town in France, Pont-de-Beauvoisin. A young 12 year old girl died after being the victim of a tragic accident. While bathing in the waters of the Guiers accompanied by her sister and two friends, all aged 14, she was carried away by a whirlwind of water.
It is around 4:30 p.m. that the firefighters were called and that a team was sent to the scene to rescue the girl. After several hours of research, the thirty firefighters present on the spot finally found the lifeless body of the teenager around 8 p.m. According to the first information gathered by the investigators, the 12-year-old girl was trapped in a whirlpool caused by pipes at a hydroelectric plant before drowning.

We learn that a investigation was opened by the Chambéry public prosecutor’s office since the river where the tragedy took place is located between the departments of Isère and Savoie.
