What a great year for sonic. Last June, fans were able to find the little blue hedgehog in Sonic Origins Plus, a compilation that includes twelve Game Gear games in remastered versions. And that’s not all Sega will offer the public this year. In a few months, a certain Sonic Superstars must see the light of day, to the delight of those nostalgic for the first episodes. SEGA discusses Sonic remakes
In an interview with Famitsu, Yukio Sugino, executive vice president of Sega Sammy, spoke about the Japanese firm’s most famous franchise, sonic. He confides that Sonic Frontiers, the first open-world game in the history of the series released in November 2022, was a real challenge for the company to create. It also defines the next Sonic Superstars as a reboot since it marks a return to the codes established by the first opuses. During this interview, he was logically asked about the possibility of seeing remakes or reboots of the license arrive to go even further in this direction. Yukio Sugino responds bluntly and strikes a new blow in the back of the head to those allergic to the trend of remakes.
