Donald Trump has resumed meetings for the US presidential elections to be held in November 2020. While his team has announced that reservations are full, the stadium is empty. One thing that could be explained by a sabotage organized by teenagers on Twitter.
On Saturday June 20, Donald Trump organized a rally in Tulsa (Oklahoma) to restart his campaign for the American presidential elections, which will take place in a few months. Its communications team had announced that more than a million people wanted to participate but, the same day, the hall of the Bok Center was very crowded: only 6,200 of the 19,000 seats were occupied, reports The Parisian.
On social networks, teenagers very present on TikTok and fans of K-pop, a Korean music style, very involved in the #BlackLivesMatter movement, claim that they are the ones who sabotaged its meeting. They explain that they asked their subscribers to reserve seats as soon as the ticket office opens, and not to go there. Last week, many videos were indeed published on Twitter by young people encouraging them to do so, says CNN. On Twitter, some parents claim that their children have spoken to them in recent days.
"Oh no! I signed up for the Trump meeting, and can't go", jokes a surfer. Another, hilarious, launches: "Oh my God! I reserved tickets for the Donald Trump meeting! I'm so excited … Not to go". Nearby New york times, YouTuber Elijah Daniel explains TikTok users and K-Pop fans "have a good alliance", and they "spread information among themselves very quickly". "They know all the algorithms and know how they can boost the videos to get where they want", he adds.
It is unclear whether and how well this teenage maneuver worked. As explained 20 minutes, only the campaign team could analyze the meeting registrations and determine if there were many false reservations. And nothing suggests that it will, especially since for the moment it expects another explanation. "Radical protesters, as well as an apocalyptic week of media coverage, interfered with Donald Trump supporters at the meeting. They even blocked access to metal detectors, preventing people from entering"says Brad Parscale, the Republican candidate's campaign manager. For her part, the elected democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez replied: "In reality, teenagers on TikTok played you by flooding Trump's campaign with false ticket reservations to make you believe that a million people wanted to see your white supremacist, and force you to reserve a stadium during the Covid . "https://www.aufeminin.com/" Thank you. You make me so proud ", she added, this time speaking to young activists.
