A few minutes left – Salzburg leads 5:2! KAC needs a miracle

All or nothing! In the final thriller of the ice hockey league, the all-important game seven between KAC and Salzburg will take place this Friday. And after 40 minutes everything is going well for the Bulls, who go into the final third with a 4-0 lead in the Klagenfurt Arena.

With a 4-1 win in Salzburg on Tuesday, the KAC was able to fend off the Bulls’ first match puck on the road when the score was 2-3 and force the seventh duel in their own hall. Now it’s about everything.Bulls put the ball in frontIn the first few seconds it was hectic back and forth, Schneider immediately tested KAC goalie Dahm, but he blocked it. In the third minute, Haudum got the first power play for the Red Jackets with a great start. But this remained without a goal. In the eighth minute there was the first celebration – on the Salzburg side. Rymsha and Meyer’s face-off win put the puck right in the far corner to make it 1-0 for the Bulls. Shortly afterwards, Schneider failed again after a solo. Hochkofler increased. On the other hand, Bischofberger became dangerous for the first time – but his hidden shot ended up in the catching hand of visiting goalie Tolvanen. On the other hand, the Bulls were ice cold again: a shot from defender Robertson and striker Hochkofler directed the puck in to give the guests a 2-0 lead. So we went into the locker room for the first time. Again Meyer with the 0:4 And things were to get even worse for the red jackets: First Bischofberger shot over the top corner alone in front of the goal, the bell rang again on the other side. Schneider served Thomas Raffl in the middle and he sank the puck with his backhand into the far corner. The Red Jackets then had a great chance of scoring the next goal when they had a double majority for 103 seconds. But Haudum, Ganahl and Unterweger couldn’t get the puck into the goal (28′). Then the KAC missed the next power play – and immediately after it expired, Meyer came off the bench, got the puck from Schneider and increased it to 0:4 with a shot through Dahm’s legs! Thaler deflected the puck and it got even bigger! Thaler unstoppably deflects a Murphy shot to make it 0:5 (43′). But the Red Jackets don’t want to give up: Mursak passes for Postma, who cuts the score to 1:5 (44th) with a slap shot with a hammer into the short cross corner. Then Coach Furey took goalie Dahm down – and immediately it worked in the power play: Hundredpound shoots onto the bar, Herburger dusts off seven minutes before the end to make it 2:5.
