a first image of the film already unveiled, hyped fans

The first image of Joker 2: Folie à deux has been unveiled by the director of the film. An equally dark and promising sequel? First elements of response.

The filming of Joker 2: Folie à deux has started after a few weeks of delay. After the resounding success of the first film, Todd Phillips, director, opted for the same communication strategy. The first images are therefore already beginning to be distilled. A rather morbid first photo of Joaquin Phoenix in the role of Arthur Fleck has been unveiled.

The film is not expected for several years, but the teasing is already beginning. If Joker was designed as a self-sufficient adaptation, Warner is determined to ride the vein a little longer. For this sequel, Todd Phillips will take the firm’s biggest critical and commercial success for a long time on the wrong foot by offering a musical comedy set in Arkham Asylum. Joker 2 should therefore tell the meeting between the most infamous clown in Gotham and Harley Quinn, here interpreted by Lady Gaga, and the beginning of their relationship.

Many wondered if the film would retain the dark atmosphere of the first, the director gives a clue with a very first image of Joker 2. It shows Arthur Fleck, aka the Joker being shaved by what appears to be a guard of Arkham Asylum. The dark lighting seems to promise sequences just as dark as the first episode. A little makeover before her first appointment with therapist Harley Quinzel? Theories are already starting to fly and fans seem reassured for the moment with this first glimpse. For the record, Joker 2: Folie à deux will be released in theaters in October 2024.
