a gigantic project from a beloved license, it’s simply crazy

LEGO never ceases to surprise, and it is finally possible to do everything, or almost everything. This is how a fan presents a genius idea, officially to the Danish company.

LEGO Ideas is a platform where LEGO fans can submit their own ideas for LEGO sets. A user creates a LEGO set and submits their project to the LEGO Ideas website. The submission should include photos of the creation, a description of the set, and why it would make a good LEGO product. For projects based on existing franchises, the agreement of the rights holders is necessary. And in fact, a fan of small bricks is proposing a completely crazy project based on… Kaamelott.

A crazy LEGO project, 100% French

After submission, the project enters a phase where it must receive a certain amount of support from the community. Currently, a project needs 10,000 backers to be considered by LEGO for production. And in fact, the Kaamelott project has almost reached this figure.

This Kaamelott project was created by a certain Lincoln SixBricks and it is also aimed at all fans of the LEGO Castle theme, in particular those interested in the Arthurian legend. Designed like movie sets, with opening walls and a movable platform for recording scenes, this LEGO set recreates iconic locations from the series:

  • The Throne Room, where Arthur receives requests
  • The dining room, place of lively discussions between the king and his in-laws
  • The bedroom, a space for sharing ideas in calm and serenity (or not)
  • The Tavern, headquarters of Perceval and Karadoc;
  • The Forest, which Leodagan wants to burn
  • And the Round Table, a place for passionate meetings

The interior spaces include medieval decoration, largely inspired by the decor of the series, with furniture, weapons, fireplace, candles, torches, food… Not forgetting the stylized coats of arms of the series. The bed has been designed to open, accommodate two seated or lying minifigures, and close like a blanket.

The set pays tribute to 12 main characters: Perceval, Karadoc, Lancelot, Léodagan, Bohort, Merlin, Blaise, Guinevere, Lady Séli, Calogrenant, Le Tavernier and, of course, King Arthur. 7 additional characters have been added, bringing the total to 19. All feature outfits from the first seasons of the series, redesigned by the creator of the set, with specific faces, most with dual expressions, and their accessories: helmet, swords, crossbow…

A movie set

Two additional figurines, representing camera operators and other recording systems, complete the set. They have their own platform, loaded with equipment and mounted on wheels, which can move quickly around the set and connect to Technic bars and pins placed in front of each recording location.

This set also includes several nods to various episodes of the series:

  • The discobol disk in the room;
  • The map on the table
  • The cat on the bed, actually Merlin during Cat Week;
  • The shark tooth forgotten in the Tavern;
  • The catapult in the courtyard
  • The Grail itself! Hidden in a corner of the forest…

A true work of art that we can only salute. This set also has 2958 pieces. If you want to support the project you have to go to the official LEGO page.
