Expected for this summer, the future folding smartphones from Samsung will have to do even better than the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. One thing is certain: the manufacturer seems very sure of himself, and has some surprises in store for us.

According to informant Ross Roung, Samsung believes strongly in its new products. To the point of planning to double the production of folding smartphones by the release of the next models.

Samsung doubles its production of folding smartphones

According to the now usual schedule, Samsung could present its Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in August, during an Unpacked conference.

For the occasion, the world’s leading smartphone vendor is visibly preparing for a tidal wave. According to Ross Young’s sources, Samsung has simply doubled the number of folding smartphones in production compared to the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Last year, Samsung reportedly produced around 3 million of its folding smartphones when they were launched. According to Young, Samsung would therefore count on around 6 million units available in stores in August.

A clue to a price drop?

And for Ross Young, this excitement in the production lines can only mean one thing: that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be cheaper than their predecessors.

Indeed, this strategy has already paid off for Samsung. The Fold 3 and Flip 3 were launched respectively 200 euros and 500 euros cheaper than their predecessors. A discount that automatically propelled them to first place among the best-selling folding smartphones in the world – and by far.

After all, the assumption of a price drop is not unrealistic, Samsung is now well established in the exercise of the production of folding smartphones, and must have largely reimbursed its large R&D expenses since the launch of its first model in 2019.

See you in August to get to the bottom of it.
