The 24-year-old woman called the emergency services on Monday after finding her child dead. They had tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate him. “The autopsy did not make it possible to determine in an absolutely exact manner the causes of death. But the medical examiner noted signs of malnutrition, dehydration and a lack of hygiene care, ”explained prosecutor Emmanuelle Lepissier.
The child’s mother was immediately taken into custody. “She ended up admitting that she had taken less care of this child since the birth of her baby,” said the prosecutor. The one-and-a-half-month-old infant and the eldest of the three children, aged 3, were placed in Child Welfare.
