a new patch that fixes annoying issues

Alan Wake 2 is still very young, and it is already entitled to a few patches that will please players. The latest one will notably improve the gaming experience.

It took 13 years for the sequel to Alan Wake to arrive, but it was worth the wait. Survival horror is a real hit, and for many, it far surpasses its predecessor. It is already sold as one of the best games of the year, and when we see the monstrous releases of 2023, it is a great feat. Obviously, Remedy Entertainment wants to guarantee the best experience for players. So, he sets about deploying patches to refine his creation. The studio has also released a new one, and it brings welcome changes.

Alan Wake 2 gets further refined

A few days ago, the new opus received a big update 1.08 bringing a significant batch of modifications. It’s simple, there were more than 200 fixes to declare. Alan Wake 2 is not free of bugs, and this has been felt by quite a few people. The firm understood the message well, and pulled out all the stops to tackle the technical problems. Update 1.0.0.9 follows the same logic as 1.08, even if it is much less massive.

This new patch will resolve issues that persist in the game despite the fact that they are supposed to have disappeared. We are thinking in particular of the echo in the Room 665 area which was not aligned correctly. 1.08 should take care of this, but some Alan Wake 2 owners continue to encounter a bug at this level. Otherwise, there is not much special to note, since we are only dealing with small adjustments. We are still told that there will be another update which will reinforce one of the adjustments made with this one. His arrival has not yet been dated.

With this addition, the proposal for Alan Wake 2 promises to be sublimated. The horror game hasn’t just been acclaimed for its technical prowess. Player feedback tells us of a gripping story, a breathtaking soundtrack, and an exceptional atmosphere. Certainly, like many of its peers, more or less annoying bugs are discovered quite quickly. But the studio is responsive, and that’s nice to see. This is clearly a title not to be missed if you are a horror aficionado.

Version 1.0.0.9 Patch Notes

Here is the complete list of slight adjustments implemented by this patch 1.09 for Alan Wake 2:

  • Fixed (again) the issue where the Oceanview Hotel lobby echo was not aligning correctly (Room 665)
  • Fixed an issue with a (very present) mouse that blocked progress during a specific sequence.
  • Xbox Series: A workaround for the issue where audio cuts out intermittently in the prologue. We expect a full fix for this issue in an upcoming update.
