A policeman wanted after the discovery of the body of his partner in Paris

A policeman, known for domestic violence, is actively sought, Saturday, January 29, as part of a homicide investigation. The lifeless body of his companion was found Friday evening in Paris in his apartment and he has not reappeared for more than twenty-four hours.

It was his colleagues from Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis), worried about not hearing from him when he was supposed to take up his post on Friday at the start of the afternoon, who gave the alert. “He had contacted his service to say that he would not come. But, after that, he didn’t answer any more calls.”according to a source familiar with the matter.

Informed, the police officers of 19and district, where he resides, went to his home in the evening. The 29-year-old peacekeeper, who joined the force in 2012, was absent. On the other hand, the police found the body of his companion, aged 28, in the bathroom.

The circumstances of the death of his companion are not yet known, an autopsy must be performed in the afternoon, according to a judicial source, which specifies that an investigation has been opened for “voluntary homicide on cohabiting partner”. She was handed over to the second judicial police district.

According to another source close to the investigation, the suspect is the owner of a white city car, which he is likely to have used to flee, and he is possibly armed with his service weapon.

Police custody in October 2019 for violence

The wanted man had been taken into police custody in October 2019 for violence against his partner at the time, according to a police source. He then had “Is the subject of a summons for an awareness course on domestic violence”.

Administratively, he had been sanctioned with a warning, according to the same source. The warning is one of the lightest disciplinary sanctions in the public service, of which no mention is made in the agent’s file.

He was also the subject of a “social monitoring”, provided by psychologists, social workers and prevention doctors. In June 2021, “He had requested the intervention of the police for a dispute with his partner who would have been violent with him. He had a swollen face.”according to the police source.

“How is a police officer known for acts of violence still on duty?! This feminicide could have been avoided”, reacted on Twitter the feminist collective We all. The minister delegate in charge of equality between women and men, Elisabeth Moreno, refused, on BFM-TV, to talk about “feminicide” at this stage, recalling that an investigation is underway. “We are doing everything to find this man who is dangerous because we must never underestimate the dangerousness of the perpetrators of domestic violence”she added.
