“The Chef” returns to series: here are the first images from “Boiling Point”, the new BBC culinary drama.
The BBC has released the official trailer for Boiling Point (via ComingSoon), its upcoming drama series set behind the scenes of a fine dining restaurant, based on the film The Chef. The four-episode show is set to debut on the UK channel on October 1.
Like the critically acclaimed Hulu series The Bear, Boiling Point will also show how intense and chaotic restaurant kitchens can be as every member of the team is put under pressure to fulfill customer orders and enhance the establishment’s reputation. To be found in the series, the stars of the film: Vinette Robinson and Stephen Graham, reprising their respective roles of Carly and Andy Jones.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE SHOW?
“Eight months after her mentor Andy Jones suffered a heart attack, chef Carly is battling to forge a name for new London restaurant Point North alongside her former kitchen team”, we read in the synopsis. “With the pressure to attract hungry new customers and the financial pressure to keep the business profitable, each team member must find a way to manage their complicated personal lives while still cooking quality meals day after day .”

The series is a spin-off sequel to the film The Chef (“Boiling Point” from its original title) by Philip Barantini, produced in sequence and released in 2021 (and in early 2022 with us) and which earned Stephen Graham a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
At the helm of the show is James Cummings who co-signed the feature film with Philip Barantini, himself director of the latter. Barantini returns behind the camera for the first two episodes – the other two being directed by Mounia Akl.
In addition to Vinette Robinson And Stephen Grahamthe series will also star Ray Panthaki, Hannah Walters, Izuka Hoyle, Cathy Tyson, Stephen Odubola and Taz Skylar.
