Created in 2006, Rencontre-Ados.net is a free dating site for young people between the ages of 13 and 25. A teen site that has parents worried
According to France Info, Teen Dating is used by sexual predators to demand naked photos from young teenage girls, as well as paid sex. The journalists created a false profile, a young Internet user aged 13, and in just 30 minutes twenty requests from friends poured in, all male. Very quickly, messages of a sexual nature are sent.
Reports have been made by parents on the website of the Ministry of the Interior Pharos. The site explains that it prevented five years ago the friend request of people 25 years old to a person 17 years old or younger, for a person 18 years old to a person 15 years old or younger, and so on. But this was heavily criticized by users, who wanted to be able to communicate with whoever they wanted. So he backtracked.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to control these kinds of sites that target teenagers.. The Secretary of State in charge of Children recalls that banning the site would be counterproductive because adolescents would use another platform. It is therefore necessary to regulate, such as the law which requires platforms to obtain authorization from parents for the registration of children under the age of 15. She is now waiting for the decree implementing the law, to better control ages on the internet.
