WHAT DOES IT TALK ABOUT ?

In post-war London, Ada Harris earns her living doing housework. If she leads a very solitary life since the death of her husband Eddie, missing in action.

Ada is however not the style to complain, nor even dwell on her fate, and yet, she who thought her feet were firmly anchored in reality, is suddenly overwhelmed by a wave of dream and wonder. when she discovers a magnificent dress signed DIOR, nonchalantly hanging in the bedroom of one of her wealthy clients.

She is then surprised to think that such a beautiful work of art, so pure, so ethereal, can only change the life of whoever owns it.

A HAUTE COUTURE CAST

This November 2 at the cinema, dive into the Paris of the 1950s with Une robe pour Mrs Harris. Directed by Anthony Fabian (Louder than Words, Skin), the feature film opens the doors to one of the most emblematic houses in the City of Light, namely Christian Dior.

Halfway between comedy and social drama, while remaining biting to perfection thanks to cleverly dosed British humour, the film manages to tackle many themes, through a 5-star cast. “I know that[Anthony Fabian] wanted to place the film in a certain tradition, the comedies of the 40s and 50s, but by bringing it a slightly more political angleexplains in particular Isabelle Huppert in the columns of vogue. It’s not just a feel-good movie. Through the metaphor of this little dress, the film manages to say important things.”

Alongside the prestigious actress, loyal to Claude Chabrol, Benoît Jacquot and Michael Haneke, Une robe pour Mrs Harris relies on a cast that has something to attract all eyes. We find there indeed Lesley Manville (who will camp Princess Margaret of the United Kingdom in seasons 5 and 6 of The Crown), Lucas Bravo (Emily in Paris), without forgetting the essential Lambert Wilson. See you on November 2 at the cinema.
