In October 2022, Xiaomi launched its own surveillance camera in China, the Camera CW400. Almost a year and a half later, the device is now also available in Germany. If you are looking for a cheap security solution, you should take a closer look at the offer.

The manufacturer’s camera costs just 74.99 euros. There is currently even a 5 euro voucher, which means you pay even less. The device offers a very decent 2.5K resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), is protected against dust and water according to IP66 and has two antennas for an uninterrupted network connection.
Full color night vision, people detection
On board is full-color night vision, a two-way audio system and human detection. There are also audible and visual alarms as well as a time-lapse function. The gimbal design allows the surveillance camera to be rotated 360 degrees and tilted 160 degrees.
The created video recordings can either be saved on a microSD memory card. Alternatively, storage in the cloud is also possible. Installation can be done on ceilings, walls or posts.
The downer: The camera does not have an integrated battery. This means that you are always dependent on a power supply at the installation site.
