Abandoned: Hasan Kahraman apologizes and gives news, while calling for calm

Abandoned is a game that will have marked the news of 2021, despite itself, when we know almost nothing about the title. The subject of much controversy, the game of Blue Box Games Studio made one last mention of him this year in order to give some news, while Hasan kahraman asks for a little calm in the face of harassment affecting the team in charge of the project.

The prologue for early 2022?

In a first blog post posted on the game’s official website, Blue Box Games Studio quickly looks back on this year and the project’s reveal, while specifying what will happen next.

The studio admits having announced the game too early and failed to meet the deadlines it had set. It is with these errors in mind that the studio now wants to better control its communication, and inevitably, this means keeping a little lower profile.

The year 2022 will begin with a technical demo that will be made public via the game application., and which will show how the DualSense is managed. We are also warned that the prologue could be released during the first quarter of the year.

A call for calm and an end to theories

Beyond this news, Hasan Kahraman once again apologized on Twitter, while asking Internet users to calm their ardor:

People really need to calm down… Toxicity creates a lot of pressure and stress. I understand that you’re pissed off, but we’re working really, really hard to come up with something that you can enjoy. And it takes time. Sorry, that had to be said … […] If you’re feeling ripped off or anything, I’m deeply, deeply sorry for that. It was not my intention and I was not trying to make any of this happen. All I ask everyone is to relax, stay calm, and just wait. The game is coming, I promise, but be patient.

He also responds to criticism of the assets used by the teaser released in April, justifying that the game itself is created entirely by the studio, and that this video was not representative of the final product.

He also recalls that expectations for the title must drop a notch, given that some still think that all this hides a big studio, like Kojima (no, really, we have to stop believing it there):

And yes, Blue Box and I are independent and you shouldn’t expect an AAA. Review your expectations. Yes of course, we want to do things our way, and yes, we haven’t done it well but we are working on it.

And for those who are fanatic that Sony is pulling the strings, no. Hasan Kahraman recalls in a tweet in response to someone wondering that Sony has nothing to do with the project:

Sony also gives its support to the independents. They have nothing to do with the application, this is our mistake and we want to fix it. And it takes time.

In short, let’s hope that 2022 calms the conspiracy theories a bit and that the team can find some form of serenity to continue developing the game, after so many communication errors.
