(CercleFinance.com) – SeAH Changwon Special Steel has placed an order with ABB for a second ABB ArcSave® electromagnetic stirrer for use on an electric arc furnace (EAF) at the SeAH Changwon Integrated Special Steel plant in Korea from South.
The plant produces 1.2 million tonnes of steel and 1 million tonnes of steel products per year, placing SeAH in the world’s top 10 specialty steel manufacturers.
Its stainless steel rods and wires made from high quality specialty steel are used by customers in the automotive, energy and shipbuilding industries.
‘The technology is expected to improve furnace efficiency, reduce energy consumption and overall operating costs of the continuously operated EAF in Changwon,’ the group said.
