After a brilliant start, ABBA continues with the new album “Voyage” at the top of the charts.

At the start of the new album “Voyage”, ABBA had set several records in the charts. It continues successfully in the second week. The Swedish cult band around Agnetha Fältskog (71), Björn Ulvaeus (76), Benny Andersson (74) and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (76) can defend the throne in the official German album charts, determined by GfK Entertainment.

With more than 200,000 sales in the previous week, “Voyage” had the most successful start to an album in around two and a half years. The record therefore sold better than all the others in the top 100 combined. It was also the best new entry for an international act in the past six years. Last but not least, the album was already able to secure the top position in the previous annual charts, which will be released at the beginning of December.

Michael Patrick Kelly on the two

Well-known newcomers meanwhile make it into places two to five. Michael Patrick Kelly (43) secured the two with “BOATS”, Schiller with “Epic” the three, the Broilers landed on the fourth with “Santa Claus” and the top five filled Unheilig with “Lichterland – Best of”.

A newcomer has the edge in the singles charts. Kummer (32) and Fred Rabe ban the world star Ed Sheeran (30, “Shivers”) to second place with “The Last Song (Everything will be fine)”. Elton John (74) and Dua Lipa (26) are third with “Cold Heart”, Glass Animals with “Heat Waves” are fourth, and Acraze together with Cherish and “Do It To It” are fifth.

The charts also show that the Christmas season is approaching. Because in addition to some festive albums, two absolute classics are also represented again. Mariah Carey’s (51) “All I Want For Christmas Is You” made it back to number 58 among the singles, “Last Christmas” by Wham! on rank 65.
