The ADAC expects traffic jams and disabilities next weekend. The automobile club announced on Monday that autumn travel would be clearly felt. The reasons for this are, among other things, the holidays of All Saints and Reformation Day, autumn holidays and many construction sites.

ADAC expects many traffic jams in Germany at the weekend due to holidays

This is how the autumn holidays begin in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. The second week of vacation starts in Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt and Saarland. The holidays are coming to an end in Bremen, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Thuringia and parts of the Netherlands.

Due to the Reformation Day on Monday and All Saints’ Day on Tuesday, short vacationers can also be expected, according to the ADAC. The club expects the most traffic jams around the metropolitan areas and at construction sites. Also the weather could cause disabilities. Drivers would have to be prepared for suddenly occurring fog fields.

The autumn wave of travel is also likely to be felt in neighboring countries. According to the ADAC, however, long and frequent traffic jams should remain the exception. The routes in the mountains are particularly at risk, including the Tauern, Fernpass, Brenner, Rheintal and Gotthard routes. There may be short waiting times at the borders, including in Suben (A3 Linz – Passau), Walserberg (A8 Salzburg – Munich) and Kiefersfelden (A93 Kufstein – Rosenheim).
