Adobe is introducing a new feature to its Acrobat PDF software that will make it easier for users to access and better understand information in long, complex documents.
Adobe has just revealed AI Assistant in Acrobat, a generative artificial intelligence tool that can interact with users through natural language and provide them with summaries, answers and recommendations based on the content of the PDF files.
Acrobat’s AI Assistant is designed to help users complete various tasks related to working with PDF documents, such as researching information, creating highlights for emails or meetings, or producing copy for reports or presentations. This feature can be used with any document format supported by Acrobat, such as Word or PowerPoint. The feature also meets Adobe’s data security standards, so it does not store or use any customer data for training purposes.
PDFs will become even easier to use
This feature is available in beta starting today for paid Acrobat users on the Standard, Pro, and Teams subscription plans. Users cant access AI Assistant in Acrobat on the desktop and web versions of the software.
They can engage with AI Assistant in Acrobat by typing or speaking their questions, and the feature will respond with relevant information from the document. The AI assistant in Acrobat can also suggest questions users might want to ask, based on the content of the document.
Available features include the ability for AI to provide a concise summary of the main points and topics of a documentof answer specific questions that users may ask about the document, such as definitions, facts or figures. The function can also provide quotes for answers, so that users can verify the source and accuracy of the information.
He can too recommend additional information or resources related to the document, such as articles, videos or websites, and even create clickable links that take users directly to relevant sections or pages in the document. Finally, AI can also help users to create and edit content based on the documentsuch as email messages, reports, presentations, etc.
Adobe plans to add more features to the AI assistant in Acrobat, including integrating it with its Firefly generative AI model, which can create realistic images and graphics from text descriptions. The company also plans to enable the AI assistant in Acrobat to extract information from multiple sources and documents at once, generate first drafts and edit copies for users.
