While new territorial measures to fight Covid-19 were presented by Prime Minister Jean Castex on Thursday February 25, 2021, with in particular local reconfinements, a detail (not so small) was spotted by internet users. Indeed, while Jean Castex was leading the government press conference while announcing that the virus "has been gaining ground for a week", a graphic was presented on the screen. So, on the television of thousands of French was displayed a French flag … upside down. The Prime Minister presented at that time a European comparison on the number of doses of vaccines injected, on which many flags were displayed. The little shell, presenting France in "red white blue" instead of "blue white red", was broadcast twice … and was quickly noticed. On social networks, many French people have rebelled against this blunder which has flouted our national flag.

Disillusioned viewers have thus been able to read on the Internet: "Guys they don't even know the French flag, where do you want us to goone of them quipped. "He changed the French flag", laughs another."There's really nobody out there who has said ‘Hey Jean, watch out for the PDF the French flag is upside down’ no no …"A politician also noticed this (big) blunder: Cécile Brulin, Senator of Seine-Maritime in Normandy, took the opportunity to throw several spades at Jean Castex : "Governing is planning … so see you next week! Until then, stop cutting hospital beds, lift vaccine patents and start production … and, while you go, try to put the French flag back in place!"She said. Note that this is not the only flag to have been abused on this graphic: the Italian flag suffered the same fate, becoming "red white green" instead of "green white red". These two little blunders will at least have had the merit of distracting those who are worried about a possible third confinement, which could be inevitable …
