After being shelled by Russia
Kyiv has electricity, water and a network again

Barely a week after the latest wave of attacks on the energy infrastructure in the Kyiv area, the people of the Ukrainian capital can breathe a sigh of relief. The supply of electricity, water and heat has been almost completely restored. The only question is for how long.

Electricity has been restored almost everywhere in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. The military administration announced on the Telegram news channel that the supply of electricity, water, heat and the mobile network in the metropolis of three million had been almost completely restored since the morning. The repair work on the power grid is in the final phase. Due to the high load, local failures could still occur.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyj had previously criticized Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko with unusual openness because of the power outages in Kyiv. The former world boxing champion then warned of political disputes and called for solidarity. Klitschko assured the “Bild am Sonntag” that work was being done on restoring the power supply at “record speed”.

With dozens of rockets and cruise missiles, Russia fired targeted fire at its neighboring country’s energy infrastructure on Wednesday, causing serious damage. Electricity, water and heat supply also failed in many other parts of the country. Meanwhile, the bombardments in the south of the country continue unabated.

Targeting Kryvyi Rih

In the morning, the big city of Kryvyi Rih became the target of the Russian attacks. Two rockets destroyed a transport infrastructure facility, military governor Valentyn Resnichenko said on the Telegram news channel. He did not give details. The military administration called on the population to take shelter in air-raid shelters. There were explosions in the city. So far nothing is known about victims.

Air alerts have been sounded in several areas in eastern and southern Ukraine. According to Ukrainian sources, the Nikopol district north of the Dnipro River was also shelled with shells and heavy artillery. On the night of Sunday, two rockets also hit a farm in a suburb of the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia, the military said. There were no dead or injured.
