Prince Harry (39) is apparently not at all satisfied with the decision made by the High Court in London on Wednesday morning (February 28th). In the legal dispute over the police protection of the royal in Great Britain, the judge ruled in favor of the British Home Office. A few hours later, a spokesman for the Duke of Sussex announced that the 39-year-old wanted to appeal.

The youngest son of King Charles III. (75) does not ask for “special treatment, but for a fair and lawful application of its own rules” of the committee responsible for the protection measures of the Royal Family, said the spokesman, according to the British “Daily Mail”. The committee must “ensure that it receives the same treatment as others.”

This is what Prince Harry’s legal battle is about

The case before the London High Court was about whether the husband of Duchess Meghan (42), who lives in the United States, is entitled to the same protective measures as the rest of the Royal Family when he travels to his old homeland. Prince Harry wanted to challenge a decision by the responsible committee. He decided in February 2020 to grant him a lower level of publicly funded security after he resigned from his royal duties and moved to the USA.

The High Court in London ruled on Wednesday that this decision was neither unlawful nor “irrational”. The “tailor-made” procedure for the fifth in line to the British throne is “legally flawless”. The Home Office had said it would review security arrangements for Prince Harry on a “case by case” basis.
