This April 19, Victoria Bedos invites you to the cinema with her very first production: La Plus belle pour aller danser. A touching comedy with a cast of confirmed actors and revelations, to discover in its trailer.

Philippe Katerine and Pierre Richard facing the Brune Moulin revelation

Writer, journalist, singer, actress and at the helm of the screenplay for La Famille Bélier, Victoria Bedos adds a new string to her already complete bow by directing her very first film. Baptized La Plus belle pour aller danser, this one was presented at the Festival de l’Alpe d’Huez 2023 and did not leave empty-handed.

And for good reason, from the height of her 15 years, Brune Moulin was crowned with the Prize for Best Actress for her role as Marie-Luce Bison, the heroine of this touching comedy in which she is a teenager not feeling in tune. with people his age. Without really wanting it, she manages to approach a boy at a party, while she herself is disguised… as a boy.

Addressing in a moving and luminous way themes such as the father/daughter relationship, mourning, adolescence, the quest for identity and the first steps in sexuality or at least in sexual orientation, La Plus belle pour aller danser is carried by actors more sincere in their roles than each other.

From Pierre Richard as a rebellious octogenarian to Philippe Katerine as a clumsy and endearing dad, passing by Guy Marchand, Firmine Richard and the young Loup Pinard, all play a score without false note in this choral film which promises to stay in our minds for a long time. April 19 at the cinema.

WHAT DOES IT TALK ABOUT ?

Marie-Luce Bison, 14, was brought up by her father in a cheerful boarding house for seniors of which he is the director. It’s almost the disguised party of her new college: her father does not want her to go … and anyway, she is not invited.

But pushed by Albert, his 80-year-old best friend, Marie-Luce, is embedded there, dressed as a man. That evening, everyone takes her for a boy… a boy that we look at and who pleases. She then decides to invent a male double named Leo to finally live her teenage life. Of course, at home, the relationship with his father is complicated.
