Baking can be so easy: Our chocolate mug cake is prepared from the microwave in just five minutes – the ideal snack for in between!

Who does not know it? After lunch you return to your desk full of energy from the break, but by 3 p.m. at the latest, you experience a low level of fatigue that calls for a caffeine shot and sugar. Of course, it is important not to let yourself down, but to ventilate the workplace and move around a little. But every now and then you can give in to your hunger for something sweet – and this chocolate mug cake is perfect for this. We'll explain how you can prepare it in the microwave in no time at all.

Ingredients for a cup of chocolate cake:

  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 tbsp nut nougat cream
  • Chocolate drops

Mug cake: five-minute preparation

  1. Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and cocoa powder in a larger cup (approx. 300 milliliters capacity). Add the milk and chocolate cream and mix well with a fork.
  2. Place the cup in the microwave for two to two and a half minutes at 600 watts. The duration can vary slightly depending on the device – if the cake is still too soft, you should cook it for another 15 seconds. If you like, sprinkle a few chocolate drops on top halfway through the time.
  3. Then take it out, let it cool down a bit and spoon it straight out of the cup.

Tip: Prepare mug cake in the oven

If you don't have a microwave, you can also bake the mug cake in the oven: the chocolate cake is at 180 ° C top / bottom heat or 160 ° C convection ready after about 15 to 20 minutes. By the way: If the mug cake is supposed to be vegan, it can also be prepared with a plant-based drink (e.g. almond milk) and a vegan chocolate cream.
