Summary
How to play Echo
Role: Anchor
The Anchor tends to stay on the target or in a place where it can be seen and protected.
Echo is one of the Anchor types in Rainbow Six Siege. Due to its characteristics, role, and utilitarian nature, Echo will almost always be on site, frequently operating drones from a safe corner.
Echo is an agent with 3 health and 1 speed, therefore directing him more towards an Achor role. What’s more, the usefulness of his drones increases as the game progresses, making him a formidable obstacle to attackers’ success in the late game.
Difficulty
Difficult
Mechanically, Echo is harder to play than average. Indeed, finding the right balance between actively playing and using your drones can be very difficult for new players to grasp.
- Very difficult to master and pick up due to its very particular style of play
- Echo requires good knowledge of maps
- Extensive teamwork required for effective use
What equipment to choose for Echo
Which main weapon to choose
Echo has access to two primary weapons, the Supernova and the MP5SD.
Since shotguns are not particularly reliable and versatile weapons, the MP5SD stands out as the default choice for Echo. This rifle can be very effective even if its Quiet mandatory will not fail to annoy some players.
The PVertical anointed is the best option due to Echo’s passive playstyle. Finally, the Viewfinder x1.5 will compliment well most of the fights he will take at long and medium range.

Viewfinder | cannon | Handle | under the barrel |
x1.5 | Silencer (mandatory) | Vertical Handle | X |
Which secondary weapon to choose
Echo offers two secondary weapons, the P229 and the BEARING 9.
The decline of BEARING 9 currently being what he is (awfully difficult to control), Echo also finds himself for his secondary weapon with a default choice.
Fortunately for him, the P229 is an excellent gun with almost non-existent recoil and good bullet damage. the Muzzle Brake is excellent on the weapon. As for the use of Laser, this will largely depend on your use of the gun. In short, only set up a laser if you tend to hip-hop a lot.

Which gadget to choose
Echo has access to two universal gadgets: the Impact Grenade and the Deployable Shield.
Choosing the right gadget will depend on your playstyle for the majority of Agents. Nevertheless, the vast majority of Echo players opt for the Deployable Shield. This aids Echo and allows him to protect himself while using Yokai Drones.

Single ability
The Yokai Drones are Echo’s unique ability in Rainbow Six Siege.
yokai |
Echo is equipped with 2 Yokai Drones, which can only be moved and fully used by Echo. Yokai drones have two modes of operation:
- Earthlywhere they can move freely.
- Ceilingwhere they can launch sonic blasts but become very vulnerable due to their immobility.
To access the ceiling mode, the drones will have to make a “jump” whose range is 5 meters vertically. If a flat surface is within range the drone will automatically attach to it, otherwise it will fall back to the ground.
- Allied defenders of Echo can access drone vision
- Only Echo can control them and use sonic blasts
- Yokai have two reserve Ultrasonic Charges that have a 20 second cooldown
- Sonic blasts disorient any agent hit for approximately 10 seconds
- The range of these discharges is 14 meters and they instantly hit the target
- The explosion has a small area of effect, allowing several nearby targets to be disoriented
- Touching an agent will interrupt their action in court
The Yokai Drones fulfill several roles. They can indeed be used to collect information, even if this is their secondary use in most of the possible scenarios.
Indeed, they prove to be much more useful in controlling and disrupting opponents through sonic discharges.
A good Echo will know when and how to use their drones to tip the balance in favor of their teammates.
