Air France-KLM: Pieter Bootsma, executive vice-president and director of strategy, will leave the group as of January 1, 2024

(Boursier.com) — Air France-KLM announces that Pieter Bootsma, Executive Vice President and Director of Strategy at Air France-KLM, has decided to leave his position as of January 1, 2024. He will continue his career in the Netherlands, outside the airline sector.
“I sincerely thank Pieter Bootsma for his invaluable and extraordinary contribution to KLM and the Group over the past 30 years.” said Benjamin Smith, CEO of Air France-KLM. “Pieter played a central role in the creation of our group and the establishment of some of our most strategic pillars. A strong team player, with extraordinary business acumen and knowledge knowledge of our sector, we will miss him dearly, but we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

An alumnus of the Technical University of Twente (Netherlands) and Columbia University (United States), Pieter Bootsma joined KLM in 1993. Throughout his career, he has held various high-level positions in the field of network planning and alliances, and led the entire integration of the Pricing and Revenue Management divisions of Air France-KLM from 2008.
He joined the Group’s Executive Committee in 2013 after being appointed Deputy General Manager – Commercial. In this role, he was responsible for network, pricing and revenue management, digital, distribution, Flying Blue and commercial systems. In 2019, he became Group Chief Revenue Officer and was last appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer in August 2022.
