Airbus: CMA CGM orders four A350 cargo version

(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announced on Monday that it had entered into a firm order with the logistics transport group CMA CGM for the purchase of four A350 aircraft in cargo version.

This order for four ‘A350F’ aircraft will bring CMA CGM’s total Airbus fleet to nine aircraft, including four A330-200Fs and one A330-200 to be converted into a cargo aircraft.

The A350F – based on the A350 long-range aircraft – features a large cargo door on the main deck and a fuselage length optimized for cargo operations.

Over 70% of the airframe is made of advanced materials, resulting in a takeoff weight of 30 tonnes less and fuel consumption at least 20% lower than its closest competitor.

The aircraft has a payload capacity of 109 tonnes.
