AkzoNobel: construction of two new laboratories

(CercleFinance.com) – The group announces that two new research laboratories are being built on the Sassenheim site, in the Netherlands.

Construction work on a powder coatings technology center is about to begin, while a new polymer laboratory has just opened and will develop resin technologies for all of the company’s operations.

The total investment at the Sassenheim site, AkzoNobel’s largest global R&D center, amounts to approximately 8 million euros.

The factory already houses the largest R&D teams in Europe for the company’s decorative paint and automotive and specialty coatings businesses.

‘The creation of the new powder coatings laboratory will allow us to conduct the fundamental research necessary to continue to innovate and bring more sustainable products to market,’ said Roger Jakeman, AkzoNobel’s chief technology officer.
