Terrible accident while filming in Santa Fe: Alec Baldwin shot a camerawoman and injured a director.

A terrible accident apparently occurred during the shooting of the film “Rust” in Santa Fe: According to US media reports, Alec Baldwin (63) shot a camerawoman. A director was injured. The actor reportedly fired a prop gun.

A spokesman for the production confirmed the US industry portal “Deadline”that there was an accident on set in which a prop gun with blank cartridges misfired. The film’s 42-year-old camerawoman Halyna Hutchins and 48-year-old director Joel Souza were met, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office. Hutchins was reportedly flown to the University of New Mexico Hospital by helicopter and later died of her injuries. Souza was treated at the Christ St. Vincent Regional Medical Center.

Investigations are ongoing

The police are now investigating “how and what type of projectile was fired,” according to the “Deadline” in a statement from the sheriff’s office. Filming at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Sante Fe has been stopped for the time being. Alec Baldwin is co-producer and lead actor in the western “Rust”.
