In July, actor Alec Baldwin will go to court for manslaughter on a film set. Now he submitted a list of witnesses.

In October 2021, there was a tragic accident at the “Bonanza Creek Ranch” in New Mexico while filming the western “Rust”. Alec Baldwin (66) not only acted as the main actor, but also as a producer. During rehearsals for a shootout in a wooden church, the actor was handed a revolver that was supposedly unloaded, but a shot was finally fired. A camerawoman was fatally hit, and director Joel Souza (50) was also slightly injured by the bullet.

Court trial starts on July 10th

After the weapons master, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed (27), who was responsible at the time, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for negligent homicide on April 15th, attention now turns to the further trial against the alleged shooter Baldwin, scheduled for July 10th. In March of this year, rumors began circulating that Baldwin, together with his criminal defense lawyers, was putting together a list of possible witnesses who would testify in court about the allegations against him.

Mickey Rourke promised ‘100 percent support’

What caused a stir was that the defendant, according to TMZ magazine, allegedly also wanted to put numerous Hollywood stars such as Mickey Rourke (71), Debra Messing (55) and Frances Fisher (71) on this list. Mickey Rourke has already commented on these rumors: “Whatever Alec needs, I will be there for him 100 percent. The Armorer is completely responsible for every weapon that is given to an actor.”

Witness list without Hollywood stars

It appears that Alec Baldwin has chosen to sit through the trial without celebrity support on the witness stand. After one current report from “TMZ” Baldwin’s defense team submitted the witness list yesterday, Friday, on which none of these film stars are said to be on. The biggest surprise in the lineup is the fact that the defendant also wants to have the already convicted armorer Gutierrez-Reed questioned again in the trial, and it cannot be assumed that she will testify in Baldwin’s opinion.

Otherwise, the extensive list should include “everything from actual eyewitnesses to deputies” and various “experts in relevant areas.” As “TMZ” further reports, the public prosecutor’s office also presented a witness list before the trial began, which included “twice as many names” as Baldwin’s. Including director Joel Souza, who was also shot in the tragic accident.
