All about Ramattra, the new hero on Overwatch 2

Introduced during the Overwatch League Finals, Ramattra is Overwatch 2’s new hero. The game’s 36th hero was previewed by two members of the development team, Alec Dawnson (Lead Hero designer) and Dion Rodgers (Overwatch 2 Art Director). Ramattra is a Tank whose lore is linked to Omnic but also with Talon and a direct link with Zenyatta. Note that Ramattra will be available at the launch of season 2, on December 6.

What we know about Ramattra

While fans were expecting Mauga, it is finally Ramattra who is added to the game’s character roster. The latter was presented very briefly, we do not know his abilities yet, but a few elements have been revealed. Here’s what we know about Overwatch 2’s newest hero.

  • Ramattra is tank
  • He changes appearance with armor that makes him more tanky
  • Ramattra also has ranged attacks and a Shield (potentially, his shapeshifting)
  • The character will be available at the launch of season 2
  • Blizzard did not specify if Ramattra will be free from launch or if it will be unlockable via the Season Pass.
  • Its lore is related to Omnic, Talon and Zenyatta

We are therefore waiting for more information, in particular with gameplay videos in order to know the spells and the Ramattra kit. Blizzard should release this information soon, especially if the hero is due out in just a month.

Also note that the way to unlock Ramattra is important since normally, the new heroes of Overwatch 2 will no longer be given free to players. Indeed, it will be necessary to reach a certain level of the Season Pass (from Season 2) to obtain it or to buy the Premium version of the latter to be able to play it immediately.

Ramattra is therefore the new hero (number 36) in Overwatch 2. The future tank will be available as soon as season 2 is released, on Tuesday, December 6.
