The Thai police have brought another charge against the alleged murderer of the Swiss Rita N. * († 57). Accordingly, the 27-year-old suspect Teerawat T. ** is also accused of attempted rape.
T. was arrested on Saturday two days after the half-naked, killed tourist was found on the Thai holiday island of Phuket. At first he had put a sexual murder on the record, later he spoke of the lack of money, which is why he had killed the foreigner.
The police apparently did not believe this version of the alleged perpetrator and conducted further interrogations. According to the police superintendent, there is enough evidence to support charges of attempted rape. This is reported by the Thai media. So far T. has been charged with robbery and murder.
Autopsy this week
Investigators do not yet rely on the results of the autopsy. However, these should be available this week. According to the police, the suspect has since admitted to having sexually assaulted the woman. Since she resisted, he drowned her, covered her with a plastic tarpaulin and stole 300 baht, the equivalent of 8.20 francs, before he left his victim in a stream. (kes)
