(Boursier.com) — Anthony Vassallo has been appointed, with immediate effect, Global Head of Natural Resources at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS), reporting to Gordon Browne, Global Head of Specialty Risk Insurance.
In this new role, Anthony Vassallo will focus on advancing the GATS natural resources proposition to market, to drive climate transition across all segments of the energy industry, including renewable energy, oil and gas, power generation and mining. In particular, AGCS has strong ambitions to grow its footprint in the renewable energy and green technology segment, as well as in the emerging global hydrogen economy.
Anthony Vassallo (41) joined Allianz in 2003 and has held various positions in the specialty risk insurance business lines, in the London market, in Asia and in South America, both in areas of underwriting and distribution. He is currently the Global Energy Product Leader and Head of Energy & Construction Underwriting for the London and Nordics region. He will retain these functions until a successor is confirmed.
Anthony Vassallo takes on his new role as Chief Underwriting Officer at a time when AGCS and local Allianz operating entities around the world are embarking on a new chapter under the Allianz Commercial trade name, working closely together to build a business powerful throughout the insurance segment of medium and large companies and specialty risks.
