Challenge met for the organizers of the prestigious Alpe d’Huez Comedy Festival! Despite a complex health context, the 25th edition did indeed take place, all masked, but with many smiles and bursts of laughter.

This anniversary edition has taken up the challenge of maintaining itself and making a still large audience laugh (21,000 spectators according to the organizers), an audience as always varied, made up of comedy fans, film professionals and the press.

Some have certainly had to telecommute, cancel their face-to-face visit, like President Michèle Laroque and juror Malik Bentalha. “We wanted to listen to the government’s instructions to stay in telework as much as possible“launched, jokingly, Michèle Laroque in videoconference since the closing ceremony.

For the rest, the announced teams all or almost all came as announced. Audrey Lamy was there to receive her prize, very happy and moved for this first acting prize of her entire career. “Thank you for your trust, your determination and your strength.” she said on stage in thanks to the director Louis-Julien Petit, present.

Also present, the cast of Goodbye Happiness, who came from Quebec for the Festival, winners of a global prize for male interpretation. “Long live the Festival, long live Ken (Scott) and long live Quebec“, expressed Antoine Bertrand.

On the special jury prize side, it is the family and holiday film We smile the photo, the first feature film by François Uzan, which wins the coveted award. “The path was complicated; the film almost died 100 times, (…) and the end of the road was with the public yesterday. The road has been long but the destination is beautiful“, summed up François Uzan, its director, on stage.

The Public Prize (in partnership with Allociné) was awarded to Jumeaux but not too much! by Olivier Ducray and Wilfried Meance. “Thank you a billion times to the public” voiced Bertrand Usclat, one of the actors of the film on this stage. “The projection here will remain engraved for life”. “I promised I wouldn’t cry“, said with emotion Ahmed Sylla, already rewarded here with L’Ascension. “It’s for times like this that I do this job“.

Irréductible by Jérôme Commandeur wins the highest award of the festival. Back at the festival, he thanked his entire team and invited Pascale Arbillot (also in another award-winning film at Alpe d’Huez). “I will never forget, for many reasons, the night it was screened“, he added at the end of the speech, in memory of Gaspard Ulliel, to whom a tribute was paid just before the screening of his film.
