Alstom: cooperation in Poland around hydrogen trains

(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom announces that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Air Products, the world’s leading supplier of hydrogen, to promote the development of direct zero-emission transport solutions in Poland.

Based on the agreement, Air Products will distribute and store the hydrogen and provide the hydrogen refueling infrastructure within its own supply chain while Alstom will supply hydrogen fuel cell trains.

This agreement is a continuation of Air Products’ partnership with Alstom, initiated in 2022, aimed at decarbonizing rail transport in the Czech Republic through the use of low-carbon hydrogen.

‘Together we will prove that hydrogen is applicable to railways and that running hydrogen trains is a robust technology that is both safe and environmentally friendly, as well as economically efficient,’ said Jacek Cichosz, chairman of the board of Air Products in Poland.
