(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom announces that it has signed with Metrorex, the operator of the Bucharest metro network, a maintenance services contract for a period of 15 years, contract estimated at 500 million euros and based on the estimated number of kilometers traveled by the trains in circulation.
The services cover preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as overhauls for a total fleet of 82 trains, or 492 cars, which cover an annual average of 8.5 million kilometers. More than 350 people work on carrying out maintenance activities.
After the supply of the new trains for metro line 5 following a call for tenders won last year, the fleet will be supplemented by at least 13 new Alstom Metropolis trains, the entry into service of which is scheduled for 2023, involving thereby creating new jobs.
