You've run out of shaving foam, but you need to shave again? No problem, there are plenty of alternatives to shaving cream to use instead!

Shaving foam is extremely practical for shaving: it softens the hair and lets the razor glide smoothly on the skin. Nevertheless, there are enough alternatives that are worth knowing … be it because the shaving foam is just exhausted or because you want to consciously avoid any questionable ingredients and fragrances in cosmetic products. The alternatives also avoid unnecessary packaging waste, because we often have them at home …

3 natural alternatives to shaving cream

olive oil

Olive oil scores three times over: Not only does it work wonderfully as a lubricant for the razor, it also supplies the skin with vitamin E and moisture and also serves as a rust protection for the blade. The skin is then pleasantly soft and is well cared for. Note: Make sure that it is extra virgin olive oil, preferably organic.

Application: Put a small sip of olive oil in a bowl. Spread some oil between your hands and rub it on your skin. Dip the razor into the bowl so that the blade is moistened with oil. Then shave as usual.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil also lets the razor's blade glide elegantly over the skin and provides the skin with important vitamins and nutrients. Note: Virgin organic coconut oil is also recommended here.

Application: Shower the respective skin areas with warm water. Rub some coconut oil between the palms of your hands – this will melt the oil and make it easier to spread. Rub the oil on the skin and let it soak in briefly. Then you can shave the respective area.

Aloe vera gel

It is well known that aloe vera is a real moisture booster for the skin, but very few people know that aloe vera gel is also ideal for shaving! Here you can find out how you can make aloe vera gel yourself. In addition to its moisturizing properties, it also counteracts inflammation.

Application:

Always apply the gel to a smaller area so it doesn't absorb quickly. Also, wet your hands before you apply the gel – this will keep it from drying too quickly.

Alternatives to shaving foam: products from the beauty cabinet

A care product with various functions that sounds ideal! Of course, the most expensive and high-quality products should not be misused for leg shaving – but if you have opened tubes, you can apply them to damp skin as an alternative to shaving foam and use them for wet shaving.

  • hair conditioner
  • shower gel
  • body lotion

Note: But remember to add moisture to your skin afterwards, as the skin can dry out quickly after shaving.

Extra tip: The shaving soap is very economical and extremely space-saving when traveling. These are also available as certified natural cosmetics with vegetable oils that even care for sensitive skin.
