Amazon adjusts return period
This is changing for consumers
Amazon is shortening the return period for many electrical devices from four to two weeks. What this means for consumers.
The topic of return periods at Amazon has not only had positive connotations in the past. The fact that the online marketplace requires retailers who want to sell products on Amazon to comply with a four-week return period instead of the legally required 14 days is a challenge for many providers. This has always been particularly true for electrical appliances, which can rarely be resold as A-goods after they have been returned.
New return period at Amazon: Which products are affected and when
The company explains the reasons why Amazon is now aligning its policy with the legal requirements in its announcement not. In return, customers will find out that in future all items from the camera, electronics, office supplies, computers, wireless, video games, music and video/DVD categories will only have a return period of the legally required two weeks. This excludes Amazon and Amazon Renewed products; the company continues to offer four-week returns for them.
The change applies to all products ordered from Monday, March 25th, but to ensure the smoothest possible transition, Amazon is offering a temporary solution: Customers can submit a return via the online returns center until April 25th apply within 30 days. But be careful: Amazon allows sellers who use Amazon as a marketplace to decide whether or not to adhere to this additional deadline.
