Amazon Prime Video: a live-action Spider-Man Noir series in the works

Spider-Man is weaving his web on Prime Video. We’ve known this for a few months already, and all of this is becoming clearer since one of the projects currently in development at Amazon is a live series adaptation of Black Spider-Man.

Produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller

Written by Oren Uziel (mortal kombat, 22 Jump Street), this upcoming live-action series is being developed and produced by Chris Miller and Phil Lord (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street). In addition to this beautiful CV, the duo is above all behind the excellent Spider-Man: Next Generation (2018), and its future sequels Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse (2023) and Beyond the Spider-verse (2024). Something to reassure us.

Black Spider-Man is one of the newest creations in the Spider-Man universe. The adventures of this alternate version of Spider-Man take place in the 1930s, during the Great Depression. Peter Parker is a more violent and vengeful vigilante than the original, and sports an all-black costume. The character appeared in Spider-Man: Next Generationdubbed in original version by Nicolas Cage.

Amazon and Sony have several productions from the Spider-Man universe in the pipeline, including the series Silk: Spider Societywritten by Angela Kang (The Walking Dead). Enough to improve the catalog of the Amazon Prime Video platform, still a little behind compared to its competitors Netflix and Disney +.
