Amazon has just signed an agreement that should delight anime fans.
Do you know Crunchyroll, the streaming platform dedicated to Japanese animation? Now boasting a vast catalog of animated manga, it will soon join the Prime Video Channels alongside the Warner Pass and the Ligue 1 Pass.
In other words, you will be able to access the many anime available on the platform directly from Amazon’s video service.
Amazon Prime Video channels are enriched with the arrival of Crunchyroll
On Amazon Prime Video, users can purchase additional individual subscriptions if they wish. This allows them to access channels for a low monthly cost, all without commitment on their part and without needing to subscribe to a package. In addition to the Warner Pass and the Ligue 1 Pass mentioned above, we find among them OCS, Action Max, and even TFOU Max.
Now, it’s Crunchyroll’s turn to join the party. Following an agreement signed with Amazon, the platform’s catalog dedicated to Japanese anime now joins the ranks of Prime Video. Amazon Prime members can then add Crunchyroll as a video channel and subscribe to one of the two new subscription plans offered: Fan ($7.99 per month) and Mega Fan ($9.99 per month).
Each of these two offers allows access to all the content offered by Crunchyrol without any advertising. The Mega Fan plan nevertheless offers some additional advantages, including the possibility of downloading episodes to be able to view them offline.
The Crunchyroll channel already available on Amazon Prime, but not in France
If it is already possible to subscribe to Crunchyroll via Amazon Prime in the United States, Sweden and Canada, note that you will have to wait a little longer for France. The streaming and e-commerce giant has confirmed that the partnership will extend to other territories from 2024.
On its official website, Crunchyroll specifies that “ If you subscribed to Crunchyroll through Amazon Prime Video channels, you will need to contact Amazon directly to make any changes to your Crunchyroll account, such as updating your payment method or changing your email address “.
Finally, note that any request to cancel your subscription will also be made to Amazon (only if you subscribed to Crunchyroll via the Amazon Prime Video channels).

With its subscription price always (a little) more attractive than the others, Prime Video is a very interesting SVoD solution. If it still lacks a few additional flagship series to be able to be fully compared to Netflix, the platform offers a varied and rich enough catalog to keep you busy for a while. It also stands out with its X-Ray functionality and excellent video quality which can help forgive a few bugs here and there.
