Amazon Prime Video will finally modernize its interface, the images

With the arrival of big series like The Rings of Power, Amazon’s video platform will take on more and more scope. The perfect time to modernize the interface.

If you subscribe to several platforms, you must have noticed that Amazon Prime Video was a bit out of date. With an interface that does not (no longer) correspond to the expectations of 2022. Aware of the concern, Amazon will bring a scalpel to the whole to rejuvenate the entire graphic part. But not only, since currently the interface is also a bit heavy and long to load.

18 months of work to rejuvenate Amazon Prime Video

This update is expected to arrive gradually the week of July 19, 2022 after more than 18 months of development. First change and not least, Amazon Prime Video will therefore offer a new home page with a big inspiration from Netflix. No more blue background but the appearance of a black background.

On the left, a menu will allow you to navigate through the various categories and return to the main screen on the fly. You will find the recommendations, the content currently being viewed, but also the presence of Top 10. The video above will give you a good overview of all this.

On the content side, a blue tick means the TV show or movie you want to watch is included in your subscription. In contrast, a gold shopping bag means you have to buy or rent the contents to see it. From this side, it remains very close to the old version.

On the other hand, the update will be deployed very gradually, the service will first be updated on Android devices and TV boxes/Apple TV as a priority. The web and iOS version will be deployed in the coming months without further details. So we will have to take our troubles patiently.
