Amazon: the fleet of Rivian electric utilities is growing


(CercleFinance.com) – Amazon announced on Monday that it has greatly expanded its fleet of electric utility vehicles in recent months, a dynamic that will enable it to deliver its parcels with green vehicles in around a hundred American cities during the winter period. holidays.

The e-commerce giant explains that it has deployed hundreds of electric trucks from its partner Rivian over the summer, particularly in cities such as Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City or San Diego.

With the most recent phase of expansion of its electric delivery – which affects cities like Austin, Boston, Denver, Houston Las Vegas or New York – the milestone of 1,000 all-electric delivery vehicles, and this in a hundred cities, is now reached.

For the record, Amazon has set itself the goal of putting some 100,000 new electric vehicles on the road by 2030.

For this, the Seattle group has notably made an investment in Rivian, a producer of emission-free electric vehicles based in Plymouth (Michigan).
